Privacy Policy

Afterglow holds something tender, so we keep this short, honest, and strict. The summary: we collect the minimum, we never sell your data, and your private note is never shared with anyone — not even your partner.

1. What we collect

Account: your email, a display name, and a password (stored hashed). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and name from them.
Your check-ins: the mood, word, and notes you choose to write, and the warmth you send.
Notifications: if you turn on reminders, a push token for your device.
We do not collect your location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or analytics profiles. There are no ads and no trackers.

2. Who can see what

Your paired partner sees your shared check-ins (mood, word, shared note) and the warmth you exchange.
Your private note ("just for you") is visible only to you. This is enforced by database-level security rules, not just the interface.
Nobody else sees your content. We don't sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers, ever.

3. Where it lives

Your data is stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider), protected by row-level security. Push notifications are delivered through Apple and Google's push services; the notification text includes only your partner's first name and mood word.

4. Your control

Unpair anytime (Menu → Account & privacy) — this deletes the shared story for both partners.
Delete your account anytime in the app — this permanently removes your account, your content, and the shared story for both partners.

5. Legal bases (GDPR)

We process your data to provide the service you asked for (contract), and with your consent for notifications. You may withdraw consent, request access, correction, deletion, or portability at any time.

6. Children

Afterglow is not for children under 16.

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app first.
